Korean Redemption and Revenge. Sung-gong has always been a target for school bullies. One day, the bullies drag him to the home of a fellow high school girl named Jang-mi where they take turns raping her and forcing Sung-gong to do the same against his wish. Ten years later, Sunggong encounters Jang-mi again at a church, and thereafter he pursues his life seeking her forgiveness without confessing that he was one of offenders. But, when he realizes that Jang-mi is still traumatized, he seeks out the bullies again.

Balu is happily married and life for him is good until the day he is informed that his erstwhile lover, Ammu, is no more. Upon learning that she has left behind a son, he decides to raise him.

Returning home after a night of love spent in a woodman's hut with Orsola, Pietro is arrested by the police for a crime he did not commit. His mother and youngest sister, Rosaria, go to Orsola begging her to provide Pietro with the alibi that will clear him. But Rocco, Orsola's brother, dreading a family scandal, constrains Orsola to silence. Condemned despite his innocence, Pietro escapes from prison, but the police track him down and kill him, and his mother, before the eyes of Rosaria. Years pass, and one day Rocco stumbles upon a half-frozen young woman lying in the snow. He takes her home and confides her to the care of Orsola. Later, yielding to the pleas of Orsola, Rocco and Rocco's son, Salvatore, the girl stays on in the house, and Salvatore falls in love with the beautiful stranger, who is careful to keep the family members from learning she is Rosaria, the grown up sister of Pietro seeking revenge for the deaths of her brother and mother.

The first rule, a film directed by Massimiliano D'Epiro, tells a glimpse of the historical period we are experiencing: a suburban high school, structures, students and teaching staff are the exemplary mirror of a social and economic depression that seems irreversible. To make matters worse, a few meters from the school, among the houses in the neighborhood, is the "Zoo", a migrant assistance center that has become a permanent refugee camp over the years. A professor is called to teach a remedial course for six students suspended for disciplinary reasons. They meet every afternoon, when it is already dark outside, inside a classroom on the outskirts where, after the initial hostility and mistrust, the professor manages to win the trust of the children and obtain surprising results. But when clashes break out between the population and migrants, the situation quickly gets out of hand. The city is invaded by the military, journalists, demonstrators. The tension grows. All the contradictions of a society left to itself come out. In this bleak picture, the conflicts brewing in the school and in the students' minds explode tragically.
