Today's world is strife with various sociological issues stemming from an upswing of mental health problems to which the society has turned a blind eye for long by stigmatizing them. t is these kind of modern day issues of depression, suicidal tendencies, sexual abuse and cannabis addiction that the film GREEN talks about through the intertwined characters of Arvind and Megha. Arvind a young man from a middle class family, is emotionally exhausted as he deals with a broken marriage with a scheming wife who leaves him for vested interests. His unstable state of mind gets reflected in his job too, where his performance drops and he is on the verge of losing his job. These rejections, one after another, in every area of his life force him to contemplate suicide. A young girl Megha who is a victim of sexual abuse at a very tender age eventually gets addicted to cannabis as an escape route from the realities of life. A disturbed soul and weed addict Megha, comes into Arvind's life in a stroke of destiny and is surprised with herself for developing feelings of attachment even though she has grown up hating men. This starts the journey of two wretched souls plunged in the darkness of their own lives, searching for answers in their equation of togetherness and love. Dr. Nandini Kumar who is a celebrated doctor of neuroscience, who Arvind consults, unravels the mystery of such young minds, which opens up very interesting dimensions in the story from the mental health point of view. Will Arvind be able to fight his innermost conflicts through Megha's presence or succumb to his deep seated insecurities of rejection? Will Megha continue to live her carefree life of virtual reality, or will she realize that she will lose Arvind because she is truly a prisoner of her own addiction? Will these hearts find solace in each other or will they drift apart ? The Questions are many and but the answer will be found in your emotional interpretation of this film.
