Summary "Vesuvio's shadow" is a 75 minutes tour through Southern Italy. The video was edited in two independent parts: "Ash and Pumice" (43 min) bring us to Matera, a city dug in the porous stone of a hill. We continue from Salerno to Napoli where we visit the world-famous Archeological Museum and to the ruins of Paestum and Pompei, the city located at the base of Vesuvio, completely covered in ash and pumice in 79BC by the heinous eruption of the volcano. "Roman Ruins and a Swedish Doctor" (30 min) takes the viewer to Capri, where we visit in Anacapri the famous San Michele Villa. After a New Year celebration spent in the main square of Sorrento, the next day we drive on Costiera Amalfitana, stopping in Meta and Messa Lubrense and visiting the famous towns of Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello.
