Un mundo de historias

Antonis arrives in a hotel near the sea. It is winter, the hotel is closed and Antonis wanders alone. It seems to have all the time with him. Until television announced the disappearance of the famous journalist Antonis Paraskevas.

Set in Vilnius, a modern city still in search for its relation to the past, three parallel stories with three average people marooned in a state of change, looking to the future with hope, but not letting go of constricting and reassuring fears of their past.

No one could ever imagine that one day La Chingada Vieja would fall in love. Because she's always alone, because no one has ever turn to see her, because everyone is always closing the door at her nose, because when they feel her coming they cross themselves, but most of all because no one could ever fall in love with death. But El Hombre sin nombre, has appeared in her "life" for good. Only the confusion of an avenging town and the desire of four men to arrive to heaven could change the plans of these two beings. Of whom the purist feelings alive have resurrected.

Tungsten will bring four characters to the center of a narrative built like a precision mechanism: a police officer that acts moved by his instincts; his wife, whose decision to get a divorce from him seems irrevocable; a small drug dealer, whose main interest is to survive another day; and an ex-army Sargent, who misses his life in the barrack.

"Heaven's Door" starts off with rugged Katsuhito Aoyama (Tomoya Nagase) getting canned from his job as a car mechanic. While leaving work, he suffers from a migraine that causes him to nearly pass out. Katsuhito then visits the hospital to receive some ultra-heavy news: the cause of his migraines is an inoperable brain tumor the size of a human fist that will likely take his life in the next couple of days. During Katsuhito's first night at the hospital he meets a spunky girl young named Harumi Shiraishi (Mayuko Fukuda), who steals his cigarettes. Harumi is also a terminally ill patient suffering from cancer. Later that evening, the two sneak down into the cafeteria area and drink lots of tequila together. While in a drunken haze, Katsuhito decides to take Harumi out of the hospital and to see the ocean for the first time in her life. When the pair walk out of the hospital they spot an expensive import car with its doors unlocked. What Katsuhito and Harumi are unaware of is that the car has millions of dollars in its trunk and its owners will resort to any means to retrieve their money.

A young woman is faced with local disapproval and strain on her marriage when she agrees to serve as a surrogate mother.
