Summary Martin manages to summon an emissary from the Dog Planet to Earth - a dachshund that can transform into a human. Mr. Dog, who is a janitor on the Dog Planet, befriends Martin and his grandfather. The two then persuade Mr. Dog to change the character cells of Martin's father, a pedantic accountant who doesn't like animals because they don't fit into his budget or apartment.
