Tipping Point: The End of Oil

A group of young adults turn their lives around by helping homeless youths.

A story of loss and reunification, as the Winnemem Wintu tribe of northern California journeys to New Zealand -- to meet their long-lost salmon relatives, missing from their river for 65 years, and to set in motion their plan to bring them home. Along the way, the 28 tribal members hold four days of ceremony beside New Zealand's Rakaia River, forging enduring bonds with the Maori people of the region, and sharing a message of respect for the natural world.

In the days leading up to the historic inauguration of Barack Obama, St. Louis area elementary students were asked to share their thoughts on the election, what needs to be fixed in America, and their opinion of the man who would become the 44th president of the United States. Their honest reflections are humorous, insightful, and mature beyond their years. First-hand footage from the inauguration events in Washington, D.C. are intertwined with the student interviews. This 48 minute documentary transports the viewer back to inauguration week --- the excitement, the unity, and most importantly --- the hope.

Juana Villegas was 9 months pregnant and never pictured herself as a mom to be behind bars. She was taken in for a routine traffic violation that is normally taken care of by a simple citation. This violation, of which she was later cleared, was handled by immigration authorized local police and she was locked up in a jail in her state. Taken to the hospital in chains, she went through labor with a sheriff's officer standing guard in her hospital room, where one of her feet was cuffed to the bed most of the time. She talks of her pain after giving birth.
