Summary "Thunder Road has seen better days. It's an old style club - with a bar, a stage and bingo. But that's no reason to close it down! The brewery is prepared to give it one last chance and get a new Landlord and Lady in to run the club. Enter Malc (William Ilkley) and Becky (Jane Thornton)..." Malc: "I didn't ask to loose me job." Becky: "I didn't ask to come back to Hull." They arrive to find the club has been on its knees for about 30 years and in need of everything. Malc & Becky have cut ties to their former lives ~ attempting to leave behind hard times and family loss ~ to start anew in Malc's old haunt, Thunder Road. The Brewery Man tells them they've got a month to work it out or the place will fall into the hands of Bob (Robert Angell) a local property developing entrepreneur who doesn't care if the old pub is razed on the spot. That's when Malc elicits the support of old pal "Tiny" (Adrian Hood) as bouncer and handy-man. All Tiny wants is to rent the room upstairs so he can get out of his Mom's place. Problem there is Sonia (Heather Peace), an 'itinerant song writer,' has walked in and been given it before he has a chance. This isn't all bad news, though, as Sonia ~ equal parts trouble and hero ~ is just the kind of musician Thunder Road needs to help get her back on her feet. Audiences know it, too, after a slew of half-rate acts have been supplied by Speedy, a down-on-his-luck promoter. Will Thunder Road be saved? Watch & find out! View more details
