The Triflers

Four part BBC drama based on Mrs Gaskell's novel of 1855. Margaret Hale's father, a clergyman, resigns his position and moves his family from the rural south of England to the industrial North. The story deals with issues of class and gender against a backdrop of life in the cotton mills. Margaret's liberal views and sympathy for the mill workers set her at odds with mill owner John Thornton.

This is about a Little League coach Joe Finn, whose pursuit of fame and fortune leaves him with little but broken relationships-particularly with his son. Determined to win back his son and reunite other kids with their own all-too-absent fathers, Joe starts a new father-son baseball league. Dads are required to practice daily with their sons. Teams must follow "Joe's Rules" for baseball: players can lead off, no mandatory rotations, no ties, and games are played a full 9 innings or more. With only half a season left to produce a winning team, Joe's return to the purity of the game begins to transform everything, from Joe's own heart, to local prison inmates, to fathers and sons in neighboring towns... all because every boy needs a HERO.

Two estranged brothers take a road trip through Tibet together. In that high altitude country, the younger brother, Wut, is looking for a mythical place called Shambhala with the belief that its magical power will help cure his dying girlfriend. His older brother, Tin, has a painful past and assuages his soul by heavy drinking.

Lisa and Jacob just got married. They drive away for their honeymoon in the countryside of Denmark. Everything goes according to plan until Lisa realizes that her plan is harming their love and their faith is turning into fear.

Lucie Audibert, a student of Art History, does research work on Watteau. She is persuaded that a hidden sense that nobody has ever deciphered can be found in a few of his paintings. The further she proceeds the more professor Jean Dussart - for unclear reasons - tries to discourage her. But Lucie is persistent, even stubborn, and, aided by Vincent, a mute street mime, she manages to attain her goal in spite of everything.

Lalitaditya alias Muktapida was the most powerful ruler of the Karkota dynasty of Kashmir region in the Indian subcontinent. The 12th-century chronicler Kalhana characterizes Lalitaditya as a world conqueror, crediting him with extensive conquests and miraculous powers in his Rajatarangini.
