The Stamp Thief

The odyssey of five children, among the 60,000 who were taken away from their homes during the Greek civil war and led to institutions inside and outside of Greece. Today, the granddaughter of one of the children reconstructs that odyssey with the help of two bloggers who, as it is revealed, have central role in the case. Central role, that claims for herself as she experiences the children's drama (some of them are the real persons) and 'identifies' herself with her grandmother. 'A fiction film-composition of 'dramatized' archive material and reenactment (with actors and people who have experienced the events) about a repressed chapter of the Cold War brought to the fore by today's events'.

Takes place during the Finnish Civil War. Artist Halli falls in love with Varpu Tanhua, who is also courted by the rich Rustinolli Ristiniemi. Feeling obligated, Halli goes to Germany to learn war skills for the benefit of Finland. When he returns home as an icebreaker, the combat situation in his home village escalates.

Set at the end of the war. A hot-headed colonel tries to force his men on to heroics although the war is almost over. A war-weary lieutenant tries to muffle his efforts but he keeps on with his men and is killed fighting in the front lines, all his men decide to get his body.

Tough talking Albert is humbled after an Iraq vet reminds him who shoulders the burden of war.
