The Soup

A fugitive girl, a stuntman and a young man who lost his dog quite some time before, are joining together on a trip to reach each of their own destination. A youngster gets emotionally connected to the girl, and he'd try to help her to leave the bossy stuntman, to get false passport and escape to Paris.

Excited about the grandson's visit, an elderly couple plan to cook chicken curry for dinner. But, things go awry when the chicken goes missing.

Lopez, treated derisively by all as Lopitos, is a humble but loyal citizen of Los Cocos Republic who works as an assistant at the chancellery, helping to process visas. Through a sudden series of events, namely the Los Cocos Ambassador's fear of the number 13, a strict protocol, three military coups, and a revolution, all successful in the same day, with many changes in governments, and ambassadors, Lopitos becomes the ambassador--just when a powerful international struggle is taking place and the Red and Green factions are vying to attract all the yet-undecided votes among the nations of the world, to convene soon in an international conference to decide who will govern the world. All of the nations have either lined up behind the "Green" banner, led by the money-oriented Dolaronia, or the "Red" ideology, whose figurehead is the prime minister of socialist Pepeslavia; except, of course, the recently appointed civil government of Los Cocos. With the votes divided 50-50 between the Red and Green factions, diplomacy, bribery, and personal corruption fall heavily on the shoulders of His Excellency Lopitos to gain his vote. His speech will be the last at the large assembly, after long tirades from adepts of both factions, and it is a speech to end all speeches.

April 1945. Because he stole two boxes of chocolate, the soldier Rudi is sentenced to death by the court-martial judge Dr. Schramm. Rudi manages to escape from the firing squad at the last minute due to an air force attack, and since the end of the war has been making a meager living as a street peddler. Years later, Dr. Schramm is now a respected public prosecutor. By chance, he runs into Rudi one day on the street. Afraid that Rudi will blow the whistle on him, Dr. Schramm wants to scare him out of town. He has Rudi arrested and bullied by the police. Desperate, Rudi again steals two boxes of chocolate from a store, hoping his old case will be reopened and Dr. Schramm's past brought to light. But Dr. Schramm has Rudi's death sentence removed from his file. During the trial, Schramm defends Rudi as he was his lawyer and not the prosecutor and suspicion rises. Finally his tongue slips and, without fully realizing what he is saying, demands that Rudi be sentenced to death. The trial is stopped, Schramm now only tries to get away and Rudi tries to leave town but finally start a new life with the woman who owns the hotel and who supported him.
