Summary Set in 1950s, "Pather Sandhan", a film based on the famous writer Bibhutibhusan Bandyopadhyay's story 'Anusandhan', delves deep into the life of a poor School Master who could keeps his head high amidst extreme challenges both in his personal and professional fronts. As in other famous novels of Bibhutibhusan like "PatherPanchali", the true essence of rural India can be felt in the film-narrative of "Pather Sandhan". Simple lifestyle of our village-dwellers in the lap of Mother Nature, their little delights, struggles and pains, small wishes and hopes constitute the fabric of the film. Interestingly, the shooting location is a village called Balarampur, which is adjacent to Ray's shooting-location of Pather Panchali at Boral. We were really surprised to find that the real people of our shooting location were not much different than the reel-characters, created by the author about 70 years ago. Thus I think this film certainly reflects a major portion of 'real India' and does have universal appeal with many spoken and unspoken words. Shot in RED Scarlet(4K RAW),the film aims to address Indian as well as International viewers. The film has been set in Black & White to give a realistic 'period' feel and bring out the world of the Master Novelist Bibhutibhusan in its totality. View more details
