The Pumpkin Eater

On a summer day, a man with tries to end his life, however, is unable to do so after seeing a food program on TV. Realizing he's never once eaten crab he decides that "for my last day on this Earth, I'll eat crab."

Based on the novel, Calm Sparkle, by Kimberly D. L. Pittman, the TV adaptation chronicles the drama surrounding Moonbow, FL's residents. Sparkle wrestles with temptation while Lisa plots and schemes to hold on to her husband. Just like the novel, this drama series is filled with twists and turns. It's "Scandal" meets "Days Of Our Lives" in this nighttime soap opera. Airing Tuesdays at 9p on The LitTv Network starting in October 2023.

Takayanagi (Yuki Yamada) is a mysterious high school teacher, who teaches ethics. His students look innocent, but they have serious problems like being bullied and harming themselves. Takayanagi tosses out words and ideas in ethics and philosophy to his students. The words written in the ethics textbook seem boring, but the words by such figures like Socrates affect the students to deal with their own problems and lives.

For as long as Ichika could remember, her family home has followed some strange "rules." Her mother, Kazumi, decided that her father, Reitaro, must not cross the tape that has been placed all over the house. Her parents have not conversed for as far back as Ichika could recall, and her father is forbidden from talking to Ichika or Kazumi, instead forced to live in a dark, cramped room, while eating and sleeping in isolation. Although Ichika finds her family's situation strange, she's unable to talk to her father due to her mother's strict control. As her 18th birthday approaches, she decides to solve "the family quiz" and start to converse with Reitaro. Her father than confides in her, revealing the reason for the tape around the home might be because something he had said had hurt Kazumi. Meanwhile, he attempts to communicate with Kazumi in order to change the family's situation, but when he crosses the tape, Kazumi reacts in an unbelievable way. After confiding to Kurashiki Sayako about his situation, who had saved him from being hit by a car, she gently advises him that it seemed like "domestic violence." Ichika tries her best to stop Reitaro drifting away from Kazumi, in a wish to reconcile her family. But as she delves deeper into the mystery of the tape, she uncovers an unbelievable "lie" that her parents have been hiding all along.

Shinobu Watanuki (Sayaka Yamaguchi) has been married to her husband Yohei for 15 years. She is 40-years-old and has a middle student aged son. She has spent over 20 years as a manga writer's assistant, but now works as unpopular manga writer. Her days are ordinary and unsatisfying. As the last chance for her fledgling manga writer career, she decides to write a new manga. For her new project, she recruits an assistant. One of the applicants is a 22-year-old man named Chiaki Tachibana.

Having lost her mother at a young age, Chisato grew up with her father. She married her university classmate Mayama Yuta, who is now the heir to a large company, and was meant to lead a happy married life, but instead finds herself treated like a "housekeeper" by both Yuta and her parents-in-law. Then one day, she witnesses her husband walking affectionately with a young woman, Mitsui Runa. When finding out he betrayed her, she explodes with anger at Yuta, but a struggle with Yuta leads to her being getting hit by a car. When Chisato awakens in the hospital, she discovers she's actually been reincarnated as Runa, and thus she vows to dedicate her new life to getting revenge on Yuta.
