While searching for her budgie Mimi, Romy roams alone through the forest on the outskirts of town, makes exciting discoveries and meets people full of mysteries. Under her curious and critical gaze, the real and the fantastic merge.

Taigi Asano plays the trombone for the Funabashi High School Brass Band. He has a bright, kind, and honest personality. He also gets along well with the other brass band members. He enjoys his time with the band and the influence of Music Teacher Kenichi Takahashi. One day, Taigi takes on the challenge to create a cheering song for the high school baseball team. With Kenichi's support, Taigi creates the fight song "Ichifuna Soul." After graduating high school, Taigi enters a university and dreams of becoming a teacher like Kenichi. While experiencing campus life at his university, Taigi feels something wrong with his body. He goes to see a doctor and learns that he has cancer.

The near-loss of a patient drives a disillusioned therapist back to Scotland where she struggles to overcome her resentment against a childhood tragedy that has kept her chained to the past.

Carmen sees her marriage stagnant: her husband does not take her into account and her children do not understand her. When she suggests going on a family trip to the Holy Land, the storm breaks out and mixed feelings surface.

A young man is wrongly accused of a brutal murder, is tried and sentenced to death. En route to the prison there is a major train crash and his guards are killed along with an anonymous traveller in the same compartment. He swaps his personal belongings with the dead man and escapes but things don't quite go to plan.
