They developed an amazing bond while working side by side on the sailboat. By the 1950's Bob had a new dream - to build a new Friendship and race the yacht in the Transpac Race - a 2,557-mile sailboat race from Los Angeles to Honolulu. Bob wanted his family to share an experience like his father had gifted him. Friendship started as a family project. Over time friends and neighbors began to share in the dream.
