Summary The Certitude of Shadow is a video filmed in Sicily, with the participation of the Syrian born poet and Nobel nominee, Adonis. Inspired by Plato's myth of the Cave, this video proposes a voyage/dialog between two artists, Kali Jones and Maurizio Ruggiano and Adonis, figuring as a contemporary Odysseus, exploring varying notions of perception. Poetry is present as sound and image, in continual metamorphosis and communion with nature. Through an experimental fabric of acoustic and visual sensations we explore themes such as identity, time and the world as a creative space reflecting on the meaning of existence beyond cultural, historical and linguistic borders. Filmed in Sicily, this video also explores the rich cultural history of the Mediterranean peoples from the ancient Greeks to Arab culture and contemporary art. View more details
