HARPER, an 11 year old girl's life is shattered when her father dies suddenly. Sent to live on a dilapidated farm with an Aunt she's never met, Harper must adjust to her new reality. However, just as she settles in, ISABELLA, her wealthy mother, appears to claim the child she abandoned at birth.

For the successful scientist Nela, work and private life are not a contradiction in terms. The renowned primate researcher plans to travel to Africa soon for her new project. Her marriage to the lawyer Josch, who fights with great commitment against the unjustified deportation of asylum seekers, is still harmonious. The surprising accidental death of Josch's ex-girlfriend Rosanna puts the well-rehearsed couple before an unexpected test.
