Like Saturday's Warrior, Star Child begins in the pre-existence, where Larry learns he is to be born to a non-member in a foreign land. His best friend, Chuck, promises to find him and bring him the gospel. He also pledges to find and marry his sweetheart, Marie, so young Michael and Sarah can have the parents they've always dreamed of. The shy and nervous Mitzi worries that "with a body covering up her sweet spirit," she will never find love in mortality, while the indomitable Betty Lou is determined to catch her man. And waiting on earth, to stir everything up, is that loveable [sic] duo, Elders Kestler and Green. Star Child deals with making hard moral choices, and being true to the "Star Child" that's in us. Doug Stewart's script is filled with humor and pathos, and Gaye Beeson's soaring music is unforgettable. Star Child will delight and inspire the whole family.

"Traman" is a Sanskrit word and means protection or umbrella. Robert "Rob" is a narcissist, in love with himself up to obsession. His umbrella is made up of thousands of selfies, that help him to create another, more attractive, self and an alternative life: A villa by the lake, a Porsche and beautiful women stand in gross contrast to the dreariness of his everyday life, in which one day he meets the nurse of his disabled mother. She, too, flees from reality in her own way. David Hofer's slanted, Austrian drama shows the painful clash between dreams (Austrian: "Traman") and reality, between the "real" and the virtual world, including collateral damage. A film that is funny and brutal at the same time. And that gets stuck. Maybe longer than the viewer would like.

On a boat to San Francisco, Nellie Proctor is nearly caught stealing a man's wallet, but because she slips it into James Blair's pocket, he is arrested for the crime and sentenced to two years on the chain gang. Nellie, ashamed at having sent an innocent man to prison, convinces her friend Milligan to help James escape, after which all three go to an Alaskan mining town to begin new lives. While James prospects for gold, Nellie and Milligan find work in a local saloon, and Nellie takes charge of four orphaned children. Warren McKenzie, the saloon owner, is also the sheriff, and when he discovers James' identity, he threatens to turn the young man over to the law unless Nellie visits him in his cabin. To save James, with whom she has fallen in love, from a second prison term, Nellie consents, but James and the children come to her rescue.
