In 1992, Peru was just emerging from one of its darkest moments in its entire republican history (1821- onwards). A cataclysmic economic meltdown and over 10 years of death and conflict brought upon by the Sendero Luminoso guerrilla had left deep scars in the Peruvian population. Furthermore, Alberto Fujimori had just dissolved the congress and senate in order to obtain extraordinary faculties and implement harsh economic measures. It is amidst this critical moment in the history of Perú that filmmaker Heddy Honigmann chronicles the views and lives of 14 real life taxi drivers in Lima. They represent the perseverance and ingenuity with which the everyday man survived and overcame the turbulence of the times in order to achieve advancement for themselves and their families.

Gold, an obsession of men and nations; a symbol of wealth and power. But for Diodora, Gregoria, Crisanta and the people living near the Marlin Mine in Guatemala's highlands, gold represents oppression, intimidation, pollution and even murder. With the rising price of gold, the mine's owner, Goldcorp, posts record profits, while these courageous women live in resistance to the mine's unstoppable hunger.

Winning the top award at a national competition might seem like the highest possible achievement for the Amazing Technicolor Show Choir. As the next year unfolds, though, this Omaha show choir continues to pursue excellence in singing and dancing. They start out the year as a group of talented individuals, but they have quite a distance to go to be their best as a group. From auditions through the competition season, the 46 students of ATSC push the limits of performance as they figure out what it means to leave it on the stage.

This project is about Terry Moore and her complicated and abusive relationship with Howard Hughes. As Terry transforms into the image of the mysterious woman ("The Lady in Black") in the feature film "SILENT LIFE: The Story of the Lady in Black" who kept her love to the silent screen idol for decades even after Valentino's death, she is remembering how she herself fell for the dashing and cruel movie mogul Howard Hughes who stole her virginity and destroyed her life and career. Terry, like her heroine, is still mourning the death of her romance and marriage that never came to be.

As a young Indian girl born outside caste, Thulasi is trying to box her way out of poverty, but the struggle for an independent life is hardest outside the ring.
