Terror

During the War of the Triple Alliance (1864-1870), a coalition composed of Argentina, the Empire of Brazil, and Uruguay, clashed militarily with Paraguay, which suffered the death of 95% of its male population. Yatay is the story of a man and a woman, separated by war and forced to face each other. Yatay -a scenario where one of the bloodiest battles of this war was fought- is a palindrome word, it can be read in the same way from right to left than from left to right. The film maintains that structure throughout the whole narration.

This Svensk Film Production, released in the US in March of 1939 in a 105-minute version, depicts every noteworthy event (in the eyes of the filmmakers) in Sweden, from the death of King Oscar II in 1907 to the celebration of the 80th birthday of King Gustave V in Stockholm in June 1938. This film is comprised largely of newsreel clips intermixed with the fictional story of the family lives of a working man and a well-to-do newspaper editor through two generations, with a special significance in the showing of the development of the social-democratic form of government in Sweden.

An investigation into the Katyn Forest Massacre. In 1943, Nazi Germany discovered a mass grave of more than 4,000 Polish army officers in the Soviet Union; now, a self-appointed tribunal - in which the viewpoints of the nations involved in the case are represented by actors - conducts its own investigation.

A well meaning Dr. lends his building to a group of neighborhood kids. When the neighbors learn that they are members Harlem tough -kid gang, they suspect that their operation there conducting nefarious deeds.

A man and a woman meet in a shelter during an air raid. They feel strongly drawn to each other, but are separated without knowing exchanging names. A year later the two meet randomly. He now learns that she is addicted to morphine.
