Tyshawn is focused on one thing, getting his family out of the hood. His late night's at the studio has Tammy, his children's mother suspicious. Tammy goes through Tyshawn's phone while he is in another room, she notices a questionable text message from his female contact. Tyshawn tries to assure her that he has been faithful but she doesn't believe him. Tammy asks Tyshwan to move out of their home, he honors her wishes and sleeps inside his car until moving in with Aunt Annie. He tries to hold on to the relationship with his kids by sneaking to see them but Tammy makes it difficult for him. One night while Brittney, Tammy and Tyshawn's daughter is on her phone she hears someone yelling outside of her window. She looks outside and notices Tammy getting shot to death. She tells Ricky what happened when he grabs a pistol from the shelf, Brittney calls aunt Pam. Pam takes the kids to Tyshawn then goes to the hospital to check on Tammy. Pablo, Tammy's student, learns of her death and sends his goons to the streets to find her murderer. They hear Jack is working for their rival Smoke and possibly had a hand in Tammy's death. The goons confront Jack, Jack denies any involvement. In efforts to cover his trails Jack tells Tyshawn that Tammy was murdered by Smoke. Tyshawn wants to meet with Smoke but Jack refuses to give him the address. He instead gives Tyshawn the location to Tae, Smoke's cousin. Tyshawn questions Tae but gets no information. Jack robs Smoke's stash house then kills Pablo and his goons.
