The Yamato and its crew must find a new home-world for humanity, working within a deadline. Meanwhile, the Earth is tentatively allied with the Galmans in their war. Yamato allies itself with the exiled Queen Ruda of Shalbart who has ties to pacifist factions within both the main combatants of the war.
