Sisters of the World Unite

One script, two screenwriters, three revisions, four seasons change, five flavors mixed. According to legend, during the early years of the Ming Dynasty, General Chang Yuchun headed north with his army and established a campsite that later became known as "Chang Ying." Several hundred years later, a group of young people also stationed there, dreaming of becoming directors, screenwriters, actors, producers, and more. Among them were two screenwriters, Zhang Liao and Sun Tan. They wrote a movie script that they believed would go down in history and were determined to bring it to the big screen.

From the mind of Brooklyn actor, performance artist and hip-hop activist Danny Hoch, this film spins out the stories of ten lives shocked by globalization, the prison industry and life in general.

A young, naive and enthusiastic theater director named Kai comes to a grim provincial town to put on Beckett's Waiting for Godot. Although the lethargic theater company shows no interest in the play, his spirit remains undaunted. Meanwhile, it is fall 1989. The world is changing and somewhere, far away in the capital, a revolution is taking place and it seems that wishes might come true. Great hopes emerge in the little town and unexpected events overtake Kai's mutating production.
