'modus vivendi' is about people struggling, slightly, for a better life. Nobody benefited from the project, but it made things seem to be different.

Ani and Sanda are two girls from Maramures who grew up with their grandparents. Their parents are working in Spain, like so many other Romanians. When they left, their common project looked promising: with the money earned in Spain they shall build a house in which the whole family will be happy. After more than 10 years, things haven't turned out as planned, and the big house is far from being finished. Laura Capatana-Juller accompanied Ani and Sanda for three years, following with a tender and talented eye the struggles of these two girls turned into teenagers while their parents were away. This will be her first documentary feature. A film on a global issue through the microscope of direct cinema.

Born in 1981, a Nanao Atayal from Yilan, Wu Ta Elementary School teacher Wilang went hunting with elders in the mountains and learned rattan weaving techniques since he was a little boy. He has an old soul that is passionate about Atayal culture. In 2014, Wilang embarked on the 'Finding our Roots Project' at Wu Ta Elementary School. He took school children to the old Wu Ta Village, trying to find the place where their ancestors used to live. However, the houses in the old village have been reduced to fragments of slate. Wilang's search for the original design of Atayal houses launched his quest to imagine Atayal houses.
