Invigorated by her faith, like Mother Teresa, Norma Nashed, a Palestinian Arab woman, overcame a childhood of extreme poverty and, as a true hero of our culture, acted to house, feed, clothe, educate, and provide medical care for desperate children. As a testament to the integrity of her work, Charity Navigator recently rated Restore A Child, the international charity she founded, with a score of 100/100, a score fewer than 1% of charities receive. When Lillemor is 19 years old she goes to France. She falls in love and becomes HIV infected. This is in 1986. Lillemor represses the fact that she has a lethal infection. She gets married and has children. She doesn't tell her husband that she has HIV. One day he finds out. Tabloid press and TV-channels refer to her as the 'HIV-woman'. Lillemor loses her husband, children and freedom. She is convicted for 2,5 years in prison having had unprotected sex with her husband and for having gone through pregnancy and given birth to two children without first informing medical staff about her disease. Neither her ex-husband nor their children, now 7 and 8 years old, have contracted HIV. The director Ingela Lekfalk has followed Lillemor from the day the sentence was given, during the time in prison, till the first month of freedom.

Isabel is a mule, a Spanish gypsy who was arrested in Venezuela flying back to Spain with drugs. She was pregnant and gave birth to her daughter, Rosita, in prison. She now sleeps in prison at nights and during the day lives with her daughter in a shantytown in the mountains of Caracas. Destined to live away from her family in a foreign country, with no possible return to Spain, Isabel struggles to survive with daughter in the chaos and violence of Caracas. 'Sin Vuelta' is a portrait of exile, of the reconstruction of a life, but also the portrait of a city in the midst of convulsion.
