The film revolves around the life of a married couple, where the wife works in the field of teaching, and the husband works in a bank. Due to the husband's strict treatment and the enforcement of his opinions, the wife decided to file a divorce case against him.

Diya aur Toofan tells the story of a tourist who travels to Muree named Akbar {Ejaz Durrani} and who's also a painter. Salma is saved from a poisonous snake by no other than Akbar who she doesn't know is her father.
