Summary Two Muslim guerillas who intend to assassinate a government official are surrounded by SAVAK agents and take refuge in a mosque. One of the guerrillas is killed in an armed conflict and another guerrilla named Mokhtar is injured after killing two SAVAK agents. His sister Zainab, who is a medical student, saves him from the clutches of the agents and they take refuge in a house nearby, where the son of a high-ranking SAVAK official named Farrokh frequents this house. Farrokh, who is a student at the officer college, falls in love with the girl, but his father, who is a SAVAK official, is against their marriage and causes trouble for Mokhtar and Zainab's family. A few years later, as a result of Zainab and Mokhtar's encounters, Farrokh is influenced and converts to Islam and marries Zainab.
