Policewoman Sarah Kohr witnesses a murder at the airport. She rescues the victim's little son, who had to see everything, and flees with him to an alpine pasture in Austria.

Tanja Relitz, an assistant of a chemical lab run by Ulrike Lichter in the Altes Land, is found dying by police officer Sarah Kohr and is soon dead. Sarah identifies Thomas Lichter, Relitz's lover and Ulrike Lichter's separating husband, as the only suspect. Sarah is now working together with the policemen Anna Mehringer and Dietmar Liebknecht. When she confronts the fugitive Thomas, who is on the hunt for the real murderer of Relitz, he is shot and seriously wounded, so Sarah hides him in his friend Götz Weiler's house. She doesn't know whether she can trust her police colleagues because shortly after she visited an informant Jakub Romanovsky in the prison, he was found hanging in his cell. Sarah's investigation focuses on the former street gangsters who are now hired as "security guards" at Leuré Chemicals Company. They sell fertilizers and pesticides to the fruit growing companies in the Altes Land, which are the main customers of the Lichter chemical lab. Sarah confronts Ulrike, who now admits that her soil analyzes detected a nerve agent that came from Leuré Chemicals' fertilizers and pesticides. With this knowledge, she blackmailed Leuré Chemicals, whereupon they tried to eliminate her, but mistakenly hit her lab assistant Relitz. In the middle of her confession, Ulrike is killed by the gangsters. With Dietmar Liebknecht already killed, they also try to kill Thomas Lichter, Götz Weiler, and Anna Mehringer. Sarah manages to stop them in time. Leuré Chemicals boss Fabian Täufer is then arrested by Anna Mehringer.

A Ukrainian arms dealer should be prosecuted. But this threatens the most important witnesses and does not deter from abduction. The daughter of a bodyguard of the witness is kidnapped. A race against time begins.

Sarah Kohr shoots in self-defense at a 17-year-old armed gas station robber. The youth is seriously injured. The perpetrator's weapon traces back to a terrorist cell that has not been active for 25 years. The indications are condensed that the wanted people live a normal, middle-class life in a small town. The villagers try to keep their secret by all means. Sarah is in mortal danger.

Lisa Maria Potthoff has to save a Chinese billionaire in Hamburg. Her opponent: an ex-colleague (Sebastian Blomberg). The business senator wants to keep the incident small, but that's not so easy: First a remote-controlled toy boat with a load of dynamite explodes in the port of Hamburg, then a sniper fires. At the last second, Chief Commissioner Sarah Kohr rescues Chinese investor Chen and his daughter - Chen's security chief Stölzer seems completely overwhelmed. Sarah, on the other hand, already knows who is behind it: Henning Lanz, once her colleague in the personal protection of the LKA. But what drives Lanz? Should he prevent Chen's controversial construction project in the port on behalf of third parties? Or is it personal?

Weapons from war zones are rendered harmless in a factory that specializes in the dismantling and destruction of deadly substances. Aida Zaidan manages to abduct the lead chemist Dr. Hartmut Diestel of IBeCK and seize the last cartridge of sarin gas left from the Syrian war. Public prosecutor Anton Mehringer instructs Policewoman Sarah Kohr to find the cartridge and to free Dr. Diestel. It becomes clear to Sarah that Dr. Diestel himself is behind it. He lost his brother during his last mission abroad and wants to use the sarin gas to revenge on Wallhoffer-Chemie, who delivered sarin gas to Syria illegally. Wallhoffer-Chemie boss Jessika Wallhoffer gets nervous when their illegal arms trafficking becomes known. Their security officer Lutz Thiemann is sent to kill whoever knows too much and to destroy that missing sarin gas in case it would be taken as an evidence against them. After Jessika Wallhoffer's husband Erhard Wallhoffer finds out what she is doing, he tries to convince her to turn herself in, but she refuses. Thiemann kills him and disguises it as a guilty suicide so no blames will fall on her. He also kills Dr. Diestel, from whom Sarah is just able to take the sarin gas, but the timer is activated. The task force arrests Thiemann, and Sarah manages to bring the sarin gas back to IbeCK.

Lorenz Degen, a criminal sentenced to life imprisonment, flees from the prison with the help of his roommate Artem Lasarew. Degen takes Prosecutor Anton Mehringer's son Hendrik into his control and wants the whereabouts of Axel Thal, Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Kohr's childhood love. Years ago, Lorenz Degen made counterfeit banknotes with Franziska Wittgenstein, who ran a printing factory called Druckerei Wittgenstein. However, in a burglary at Druckerei Wittgenstein, Thal captured banknote printing templates and has disappeared since. Because Degen can't locate Thal, he demands the whereabouts of Thal from Anton in exchange for Hendrik. Sarah must find Thal if she wants to save Hendrik. When she tracks him down and obtains the templates, he shoots himself. But the handover is not going as planned. Degen takes the printing templates without releasing Hendrik due to Hendrik's mom Anna Mehringer's disruption. Sarah finds out the hiding place by putting Lasarew under pressure with the help of Lasarew's son Danylo Magraf. Hendrik is thus liberated and Degen has to go back to prison.

Die Helden des Alltags sind längst vergessen, und auch die Wellen der Virusinfektion haben sich in Europa beruhigt. Nur die "Corona-Lüge" beschäftigt noch viele derer, die fest daran glauben, dass diese Pandemie geplant war von denen, die davon profitierten, wie etwa das Mediziner-Ehepaar Carsten und Lisa Kippmann. Die sollen jetzt büßen, an den Pranger gestellt werden, mit vernichtender Explosion. Das ist zumindest die Absicht des Verschwörungstheoretikers Felix Morgenroth, der mit allen Mitteln versucht, die "Corona-Lüge" zu entlarven. Er und sein Gefolge geraten ins Visier der Staatsanwaltschaft, und Anton Mehringer ist geschockt, dass Sarah Kohr offenbar einen einvernehmlichen Umgang mit diesen Kriminellen pflegt und für deren Ideen vielleicht bereit ist zu töten. Hat sie den Pfad der rechtschaffenen Polizistin verlassen und sich für eine Art Selbstjustiz entschieden, weil sie den Verschwörungsparolen auf den Leim gegangen ist? Ausgerechnet jetzt, wo Mehringers Berufung zum Oberstaatsanwalt bevorsteht, entgleitet ihm seine beste Ermittlerin.

Sarah Kohr hat einen Unschuldigen erschossen - zumindest sagt man ihr das, als sie nach einem Unfall im Krankenhaus aufwacht und sich an nichts erinnern kann. Wie konnte es dazu kommen? Sarah hatte ihren schwer verletzten Nachbarn Christian Zegel ins Krankenhaus begleiten wollen, als der Rettungswagen gerammt wurde und sich überschlug. Den Unfallgegner Alexander Diebhorst soll sie danach erschossen haben. Gegen Sarah wird ermittelt. Um sich und der Staatsanwaltschaft zu beweisen, dass sie keine Mörderin ist, muss Sarah Kohr herausfinden, was passiert ist. Bald kann sie eine Verbindung zwischen ihrem Nachbarn Zegel, einer aktivistischen Umweltgruppe und einem Zementwerk im nahegelegenen Böllstedt herstellen. Und auch der zwielichtige Unternehmer Lothar Lessen spielt in diesem Konstrukt eine gefährliche Rolle. Schnell wird klar, dass Alexander Diebhorst in der Unfallnacht nicht zufällig Sarahs Weg kreuzte. Unterdessen hat auch der in Böllstedt praktizierende Arzt Dr. Tobias Hartmann mehr herausgefunden als gut für ihn ist und schwebt bald in großer Gefahr.

Nach einem Überfall liegt Staatsanwalt Anton Mehringer im Koma. Kommissarin Sarah Kohr muss gegen einen Unbekannten kämpfen, der ihn für immer zum Schweigen bringen will. Mehringer war in einer dunklen Gasse vor einem Treffen schwer verletzt worden. Eine Polizistin in Zivil konnte das Schlimmste verhindern. Nun wird Mehringer in einer Spezialklinik behandelt, in der man sich ausschließlich mit Wachkomapatienten beschäftigt. Neben der Polizistin July Bastrich, die durch ihr Eingreifen Mehringer retten konnte, stößt Sarah Kohr auf verschiedene Verdächtige. Die Spuren führen alle in die Klinik der angesehenen Frau Prof. Dr. Gabriele Keuber. Offensichtlich hatte Anton Mehringer vor dem Angriff Hinweise in diese Richtung bekommen und soll nun aus dem Weg geräumt werden.
