Beating Heart (aka Six Love Stories) is a 12 episode Korean TV drama that revolves around the life of a somewhat ordinary modern family. Broken down into 6 two part episodes (each helmed by a different writer and director), this series weaves together the individual lives and loves of each of the family members into a coherent and effective story.

Two friends are in love with a beautiful Vera Paramonova. Piotr Strelchenko - the 'guy No.1' in their hometown, who has brilliantly completed the military service - has no doubt that their wedding with Vera is a resolved question. Boris Zhikharev - a stubborn and talented cadet, a future military engineer - in all respects "gives up" in competition with Piotr, and does not count on anything. In the early 20th century, people lived in poverty in China. Jin Yurong, from a downfallen aristocrat family, aspired to become a doctor to help people with her skills. She met Zhao Zhengnan from a powerful family and also wanted to help the people. They met and fell in love with each other.
