Barbara is a successful middle aged woman - a respected architect, a great mother and wife, has good friends; leads the good life in Berlin. Out of nowhere seemingly, but definitely out of her past, Ilke appears - her daughter from a relationship with a Turkish immigrant some 25 years ago. Ilke was raised by her father, who became a wealthy businessman and educated Ilke at Europe's best schools, but without the benefit of a mother. After the Turk's death, Ilke comes to Berlin with a great deal of cash. Through a detective with mysterious contacts, one day Ilke walks into Barbara's life, and family, and is quickly accepted. However, as past details are revealed, Barbara in particular has to face what she had set aside so long ago.

Dealing with an illness and troubled past, an isolated man applies for the Mars Survival Mission with hopes to colonize Mars after the Earth has become over populated.

A boy studying for his entrance exams becomes alienated from his family. Although the boy stays in the same house as his family the gap between the boy and family widens so much they start forgetting about the existence of this boy. One day their neighborhood is attacked by terrorists, the family mistake their own son for a terrorist and get him killed by the police. This story connects the story of two journalists, an anti-establishment girl and a pro-establishment man, who go through existentialist crisis in their parallel stories. The film is about social justice and land acquisition and existence.

The reality of thousands of commerce workers in peripheral areas, where xenophobia, humiliation and constant confrontations end up in many cases being the only form of communication between people who choose to survive in this environment.
