A road movie. An unorthodox crime story. Portrait of an unlikely companionship. Belgian director Caroline Strubbe's uniquely crafted second feature combines all of these to tell the moving story of a man and a child in mourning as they journey through Western Europe.

A bored housewife starts an affair with her husband's friend. Trouble for the whole family.

A young man named Victor (Mark L. Young) realizes the shortcomings of the Utopian ideals on the hippie commune where he was raised. Victor's mother (Andie MacDowell) is funding the commune where the guru Insley (Rutger Hauer) hypnotizes and seduces women with a technique he calls "running". Insley manipulates the minds of these women so that they give him their bodies and all of their worldly possessions. Victor's childhood love, Becky (Hanna Hall), returns to take care of her deathly ill father. Victor, haunted by visions of Becky's death, is desperate to save her and himself by escaping from the cult. Preoccupied with Insley's free love philosophy, the adults of the community overlook the painful reality that the self destructive behavior of their children is most certainly due to early exposure to sex and drugs. To afford an escape, Victor tries to sell marijuana, but is cut out by rivals competing for Becky's affection. Finally, Victor is torn between getting money from his mother, who is entirely under Insley's influence, dealing with the violent drama of his drug-addled friends, and staying to save Becky as she spins out of control.

Two interlocking themes arise from this story: the theme of love, and that of man's eternal submission to traditional symbols. Director Zivko Nikolic continues his movie saga of human nature. Both themes develop the mythical idea of temptation. It is basic human relation: from the intimate to the families' vying with each other.

A middle aged farmer, living with his old and bedridden father, tries to find truth in life.

In an age where being oblivious to your true self has increasingly become a reality for many, such a path to self-discovery can lead to feelings of loneliness, confusion, fear, and doubt. Artistically inclined villager Avdhut Kale struggles to find his place in the metropolis of Pune. Working as a reporter for the local newspaper, he is stuck with helping his colleague write the horoscope section or trying to meet the demands of his editor who wants to publish factual but sensational news. As the film progresses, Avdhut travels back home and is faced with the prospect of an arranged marriage. His work and the mounting societal pressures of what is expected of him is a disconnect from his true self. His passivity towards life is made apparent through his discourses with friends and family, who voice their perspective of life. Divided into five chapters, the final chapter witnesses his journey to the countryside, where he seeks wisdom and spiritual insight. Trijya traces the journey of Avdhut, from his hometown in rural India and how he faces the reality of his own dreams and aspirations about life in a large Indian city. It takes us through the challenges of today's modern way of life and the compromises one inevitably makes along the way to find peace and a place we can call our own.
