Vadivel and his friends specialize in different aspects of film making and decided to make their first movie as one team. Vadivel wants his first film to be his story based on Tamil folklore that is also close to his heart since his father was a performer of the dying rural art form -'Koothu'. But every producer he meets, reject his story on grounds of absence of elements that would make it commercially viable and deem it too risky an option for a debut. Driven to the limits of desperation and not wanting to jeopardize the careers of his friends, he puts forth a plan to fund the movie by executing a heist. The turn of events once the team agrees to the plan is detailed to form the rest of the movie.

Koichi is a gigolo who is paid by a madame to seduce and have sex with various women while she and her clients secretly watch. He doesn't like what he's doing, but he needs the money to take care of his seriously ill mother. One day he's given the assignment to seduce a pretty waitress and they wind up falling in love. Koichi tells his madame that is going to quit, but she has other plans for him.

John, a Maltese student with big dreams and a serious lack of sleep has had a busy and exhausting last couple of days. It all takes a toll on him during one night whilst driving home from work. His going missing effects a series of coincidental events on a night of tragedy.

Morgan Stipe is not a film maker. He is a self centered dreamer from small town Rhode Island, obsessed with becoming a Hollywood player, regardless of the cost. Driven by ego, Morgan launches a new production company "A Flash of Yellow Pictures," relying entirely upon the efforts and connections of others. His childhood friend, Quinley Blais, a successful Rhode Island videographer, is dragged into Morgan's twisted universe, grudgingly subsidizing Morgan's dream by providing the technical know how and by hosting the gala cocktail party celebrating the rollout of the fledgling production company. All the while, Morgan's dutiful girlfriend, Mel Cafferty, tries to salvage their relationship in spite of Morgan's relentless pursuit of fame. Morgan's real ace in the hole is a dirty little secret - known only to himself and an old friend who has already hit the big time: the now famous falling star and local hero, Jacob Mattison. With this long standing debt of silence to Morgan hanging over his head, the deeply troubled Jake is forced to be the centerpiece of the party and the catalyst for Morgan's ambitions, at the same time that he must face up to his estranged family and deal with his own demons. But will Morgan's own past will rise to face him as he trades away his soul for fame and fortune ? So as the dozens of colorful characters arrive at the party to reach for the brass ring of fame on the silver screen, friendships are strained, love is tested and dreams are made and broken by ambition, greed and desperation as each one struggles to get free of the past and, finally, get out of Rhode Island.

Dr. Max Steigelmann and his wife Juliane only maintained the shambles of an outlived marriage until darling son Jonas graduated, now they part, bickering over Max offering a sports-car as graduation present. Nostalgy drives Juliane back to Tuscany, where the couple spent happy holidays. Max decides to sell the old minivan they drove in their hippie days, but first takes it on random last trip. He ends up in the same Tuscan town, where Jonas arrives with his girlfriend, sort of riding to ma's rescue. Now all Steigelmann relationships are up for reevaluation.
