Summary Three deserted kids seek refuge in a riverside Martello tower from the authorities, inspired by the youngest Jack, who everyone else believes lives in a fantasy. They make the tower their home and set out for provisions through the marshes, but swans attack them. They are drawn into the Underworld kingdom of the Fairies and become prisoners of Balor of the Evil Eye the Winter Lord. They escape and are saved by Hadi an amazing Tuareg warrior who takes them to the venerable Oracle (the stone of destiny).
