Summary Pied is a story that bluntly shows how one faces discrimination similar to untouchability if he/she is suffering from skin disease. The story begins with some people who are seen as untouchables and how they are discriminated against, but the story politely transforms into a story of a girl who is suffering from Vitiligo. The Girl faces the same discrimination as the Untouchables get treated with. Even the ones who are being discriminated as Lower Caste People, Discriminate the girl for her skin disease. Her Family wants her to get married and settle her life. The Mother tries her best to fix her daughter's disease by pleading every monk and Sage. The story also discloses a milkman 'Dudhiya' who collects milk from most of the houses. But he always collects milk from her house first. The girl asks him why he always collects milk from her house first. Dudhiya treats the girl as a normal human being and also secretly has feelings for her. He never discriminated her and understands his concerns for the girl's condition. Further in the story, We see the girl is not happy at all with the types of Guys that are coming for the marriage. Some want to marry her for the greed of getting huge land for business, some want to marry her for getting all her family's properties in dowry. Some get really disgusted by just watching her.
