Summary Luis lives in the jungle with his parents and his many pets. His favorite pet is his monkey named Pancho. He finds a hide out where he and his friend Marta are able to discover new creatures and enjoy nature. His father Lorenzo orders him to get rid of his pets starting with his pet monkey. His father then gives away Pancho to a beggar. The beggar then sells the monkey to a couple of poachers, who are searching for a flamingo nesting ground. Luis goes to search for Pancho, only to be captured by the poachers who then hurt Pancho. They kidnap him and hold him in the jungle.
