Otter Point: The Return of a Wetland

Summary Otter Point: The Return of the Wetlands tells how Lewis and Clark National Historical Park and Columbia River Estuary Study Taskforce are transforming farmland into habitat for salmon. The farmland, now part of Lewis and Clark NHP, was created when levies were built by the Army Corps of Engineers. The levies dried the wetland and destroyed healthy salmon habitat. To return the land into its natural state, the park service is replanting and reseeding the area and plans to breech the levy. This film was made during Film Camp in the summer of 2011 at Lewis and Clark NHP. View more details
