1957. Hernando Alamada, Filipino vaudeville great and a former socialist cadre, fulfills the last leg of his performing tour on the Mayflower cruise ship. He knows that the Philippines is experiencing a bitter transition yet again; the much-loved and popular president, Ramon Magsaysay, suddenly dies in a plane crash. He arrives in his poverty-stricken barrio, his country's state and future burdening him heavily, and at the same time, a deep personal turmoil confronts him. He plods on an aimless journey. Akin to the Filipino 'bodabil', he finds himself on the gate of the theater of the absurd, a descent to burlesque, madness, to stark realities, and, ultimately, an ascent to his own redemption.

An American Posada "An American Posada" is a short film created by Robert Jerome Pagan inspired by his stage play, "Santa Baby: A Classic Holiday Special"- a recreation of a fictional classic television show titled "Leave it to the Joneses". Synopsis "An American Posada" is an homage to 1950-1960s television with a very special difference. Imagine if in the 50-60s the stories of diversity were told on TV. Traveling into a fictional television show, the story of immigration, war, acceptance, and the magic of Christmas is told through intertwining moments on the day of Mr. Ronald Brown's Christmas Posada. With civil unrest and a march for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), the community has decided that it is too dangerous to have their annual Posada procession. Mr. Brown, knowing the importance of his family's tradition, comes up with the idea to host a Posada at his home. However, Mr. Brown believes, in the spirit of the ERA, it is time to invite ALL his friends in Trillberry to his backyard Posada. The day of the Posada will bring surprises, tears, and new life to a grieving and divided community.
