Hidden Corners: Niagara
My name is Owen Bjorgan, and I am currently a student at the University of Guelph studying Biodiversity. I am set to graduate this April 2016, where I will be completely finished with school, tentatively speaking. Aside from school, I would consider myself an avid environmentalist, adventurer, photographer, writer, and musician. During my undergrad years, I put together a pilot episode for a project called 'Hidden Corners'. This is an independent filming project focusing on the '3 C's'- Conservation, Community, and Camaraderie. The concept of Hidden Corners is to explore the unusual, under-appreciated, and unseen natural wonders of a region in a highly informal but highly educational fashion. This potential series is a unique niche unto itself. It combines cinematography, adventure, comedy, original music, and environmental awareness all in one. This idea is organic and original, and I feel it could be a great catalyst for bettering our relationship with the the planet. The cinematography and music in the pilot episode 'Hidden Corners: NIAGARA' were created on no-budget work while I was a student in 2015/2016. Once I graduate, I am looking to utilize newfound time and potential finances to upgrade the quality of both immensely. I also look to seek even further training and experience in expedition skills. I have recently acquired a new camera which is one step forward for the time being.
