Wannes Destoop is a Belgian director/writer known for the short film 'Badpakje 46' - winner of the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival 2011. This short film grabbed worldwide 13 prizes and over 60 international selections.

His next short film 'Billy the Bully' was awarded the prize for Best Short Film at the Amiens Film Festival in 2015.

In 2020, his series 'Albatros' was released which he co-wrote and directed. 'Albatros' was selected for the Series Mania Festival and was picked up internationally by sales agent Wild Bunch TV. 'Albatros' won the prestigious Prix Europa for Best European TV Fiction Series in 2021.

Wannes Destoop is currently developing his first feature film 'Holy Rosita'.
