Manuel Velez Pangilinan is a Filipino businessman and sports patron. He is the managing director and CEO of First Pacific, a Hong Kong–based investment management and holding company operating across the Asia-Pacific region. In the Philippines, he chairs several of First Pacific’s major investments, including Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, PLDT, and Philex Mining Corporation. Pangilinan was the first president of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), serving two terms from 2007 to 2018, and is now its chairman emeritus. He also serves as chairman and benefactor of San Beda University, his alma mater.
