Mabel Cheung is a leading director in Hong Kong cinema, as well as a screenwriter, and producer. She has often worked with her husband, director and screenwriter Alex Law. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Psychology from the University of Hong Kong, has attended the University of Bristol to do graduate work in drama and creative writing, and received a master's degree in film studies from New York University. SHe also met her husband, Alex Law, at New York University.
