Kato Hiroyuki is a Japanese television director and producer from Kanagawa, Japan. He graduated from Asia University (亜細亜大学). While at university, Kato joined a film club, and upon the recommendation of a senior member, began working as an assistant director for TV dramas produced by Toei Video Studio (東映ビデオスタジオ). In 1999, at the age of 31, Kato made his directorial debut with episode 37 of "Burning!! Robocon" (燃えろ!!ロボコン).
