Hoshida Yoshiko

Description:

Hoshida Yoshiko is a Japanese producer and director from Tokyo, Japan. She served as the general director and managing director at Kyodo Television (共同テレビジョン).

Hoshida developed an interest in the entertainment industry early, influenced by her father's career. She graduated from the Department of Japanese Literature at University of the Sacred Heart (聖心女子大学) and initially aimed to enter the film industry. However, due to a hiring freeze in 1972, she shifted to television. Through an introduction by Okura Mitsuru (大倉貢), president of Shin Toho (新東宝), she met Ishii Fukuko (石井ふく子), a producer at TBS, and began working part-time as an assistant director on the "Toshiba Sunday Theater" (東芝日曜劇場), handling tasks such as distributing scripts and arranging transportation. She later moved to Telepack (テレパック).

In 1985, Hoshida joined Kyodo Television, where she made her directorial debut in February 1987 with the drama "Machi" (街) on Fuji TV's "Otoko to Onna no Mystery" (男と女のミステリー).
