Ishimatsu Yoshihiro is a Japanese screenwriter and novelist born in Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture. He graduated from the Department of Aesthetics and Art History, Faculty of Letters, University of Tokyo. He has been a member of Toho's scenario study group since he was in college. After graduating, he joined Daiei and studied under Shirasaka Yoshio, Funahashi Kazuo, and Masumura Yasuzo.
He debuted in 1960 with "Dankongai no Yujo" and signed a screenplay contract with Daiei in 1962. Since then, he has written a lot of works, regardless of whether they are TV or movies, and has been active not only in Daiei but also in companies such as Toho, Toei, and Nikkatsu. In 1971, he became a freelancer following the bankruptcy of Daiei.
While working on scenarios for works of various genres, he has also written scenarios and novels under the aliases of "Munekata Sho" and "Munekata Toshiro".
