Ward Kimball was a renowned American animator who made significant contributions to Walt Disney Animation Studios as a member of Disney's Nine Old Men. He played a key role in the creation of animated classics and earned two Academy Awards for Best Animated Short Film. In addition to his animation work, Kimball was also known for his passion for railroads and his talent as a jazz trombonist. He formed and directed the Dixieland band Firehouse Five Plus Two, combining his musical skills with his successful career in animation.
