(Politician) Porter Johnston Goss is an American politician who served as the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from 2004 to 2006. Before his role at the CIA, he represented Florida's 14th congressional district as a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Goss also chaired the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and co-sponsored the USA PATRIOT Act. He resigned as CIA Director in 2006, and U.S. Air Force General Michael Hayden succeeded him.
