During her time in South Korea, she was accused of seducing military officers to gain intelligence, involvement in plots to harm intelligence agents and kidnap South Korean businessmen, and attempting to locate defectors. Won's professional life involved providing photos of military installations and newspaper clippings to her home country, as well as being pressured by prosecutors to exaggerate her espionage activities.
