Marie Anne de La Trémoille, known as the Princesse des Ursins, was a French courtier who wielded considerable political power as the de facto ruler of Spain from 1701 to 1714. She acted as a representative of French interests in Rome and later in Spain under the Bourbon dynasty. Her influence at the Spanish court was significant in the early years of Philip V's reign, but a conflict with Queen Elisabeth Farnese ultimately resulted in her expulsion from the country.
