(Spy, Military personnel) Major Joseph Antoine France Antelme OBE was a Franco-Mauritian who served in the Special Operations Executive during World War II. He participated in espionage, sabotage, and guerrilla warfare missions in enemy-occupied territories. Antelme conducted undercover operations in Madagascar and undertook two missions in occupied France before being captured by the Gestapo during his third mission. Along with other captured SOE officers, he was executed at the Gross-Rosen concentration camp in accordance with Adolf Hitler's directives regarding irregular combatants.
