Konon Molody

Konon Molody, a Soviet intelligence officer, operated under the alias Gordon Arnold Lonsdale during the Cold War. Disguised as a Canadian businessman, he worked as a non-official (illegal) KGB intelligence agent. Molody orchestrated the Portland spy ring, which conducted espionage in Britain from the late 1950s to 1961. His career was defined by covert operations and involvement in espionage for the Soviet Union during a tense international period.
