(Actress) Lillie Langtry, also known as "The Jersey Lily," was a British socialite, stage actress, and producer. She made her West End debut in 1881, becoming the first socialite to appear on stage and causing quite a sensation. Langtry went on to star in numerous plays in both the UK and the US, including works by Shakespeare. She eventually founded her own stage production company and later performed dramatic sketches in vaudeville. Langtry was also involved in horse racing, owning a successful stable, and had relationships with royal figures and noblemen.
